I am sure most of you have done Jonah before, perhaps many times, perhaps here! But I absolutely know there will be heart-melting encouragement and fresh insights because it’s The Word of God, and, it’s Paige. She has learned so well from Keller how to preach to the heart, and she knows how to connect with women. I’m really excited to do this with YOU!
If you have not already signed up to get a reminder in your inbox this Wednesday morning, please do so here:

It’s a six-week study but they will take a fall break, so we’ll be here seven weeks and one week you can just chat! 🙂
Format:
After this 10 day post, I’ll start posting on Wednesday, when Paige streams live. After she streams, her lecture goes up on You-Tube, but she takes it down Tuesday evenings at 10 P. M. Central. We don’t know why, but she means it, so don’t get caught.
This post will cover 10 days!
I want to try a simpler format — you’ll see!
Oh Lord, be with us as you were with Jonah!
Sunday:
1. How did you experience the presence, power, or mercy of God this week?
Monday: Read Jonah 1-2 (Labor Day)
1. What particularly stood out to you or even became radioactive and why?
Tuesday: Read Jonah 3-4
2. What particularly stood out to you or even became radioactive and why?
Wednesday: Part I.
On you-tube listen through her reading of the Scripture at minute 24:26
3. What particularly stood out to you and why?
4. Do you have any questions about the text, anything Paige said, or a challenge you are facing in application that you’d like to share here?
Thursday: Part II.
Listen to about 43:22 when she says “All sin is a rejection of God.” The Song she was referring to can be found here:
5. What particularly stood out to you and why?
6. Do you have any questions about the text, anything Paige said, or a challenge you are facing in application that you’d like to share here?

10. What is your take-a-way and why?
—There is so very much in this lesson to take note of. It is powerful truth about our God and his grace. She said “The grace of God is running after this prophet who is running away from the grace of God.” She talked about the irony of that and there is no refuge from God. There is only refuge in God.
My take away would be her comment: God has more Grace than I have sin!
In order to really appreciate that truth I need to see the depth of my sin and rebellion but in spite of it He runs after me. No matter what He will come running and running and running and running after me. And along with that He is running after “them”. All these other people too. And I can be a conduit of His love to others. She said if He can love me He can love anybody. Wow! Grace way beyond imagination. In her closing prayer she prayed “May we see ourselves through the lens of Your love and may we see others through that lens as well.”
This teaching from Jonah is wonderful and beautiful affirmation or God’s deep love for me personally and it enlarges my vision and desire to love others with the love of Christ. It won’t happen naturally but through the power of the Holy Spirit it is possible.
1 Peter 1: 3 & 4 says
”Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. “
These verses are part of a section of scripture I am memorizing. I take hold of the thought “his divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life.” Yes Dee, her closing section brings a person to tears like she was. 💕
10. What is your take-a-way and why? It’s amazing what Paige packed into the first 4 verses of Jonah. I will try to remember that the But God was not an act of punishment because Jonah fled but an act of grace and that God is able to give this grace because Jesus said yes to God s request to come to earth to pay the price of my no(s). Why? Prayed with a young woman Sunday who seemed to be trapped in the OT picture of God as a punishing demanding God. Here in Jonah is a wonderful picture of His grace.
What a good response to that woman, Judy.
