You will hear me quoting this pastor often. Here he is, in the middle of New York City, which is arguably the most liberal and skeptical community in the United States ā filled with people that Gallup says never go to church (young, intellectual, career-driven singles) and gaining their ear, seeing them come to Christ, and changing, yes, changing, New York City and the world.
His preaching is changing the way I speak, the way I think, and the intimacy I have with Jesus. In the next few blogs Iām going to tell you why ā but you might want to listen for yourself. There are many free downloads to get you started.

Well, when I first started checking out redeemer.com I was reading articles and ministries, etc. I was very excited about what was going on there. Especially the importance they place on prayer ministry. Reading the articles can also give you a good look into a writer’s heart. So, I really liked those.
I have not had the opportunity to listen to many messages yet because of time restraints and where I am in life but what I have listened to I have loved so far. I listened to just one and it was 1 Peter 1:3-12, Suffering: If God is good, why is there so much evil in the world? He used some of this after Sept. 11th when he was given only 7 minutes to speak on the topic!!! It was good stuff. I love the heart of God. I have heard too much bad teaching on suffering and it is nice to hear this Biblical stuff. I believe God is just filling me with truth He has already placed in me. He is reassuring me of the correct way instead of the “wrong thinking” of man’s opinion. Things I knew but let myself doubt because I felt among the minority. I love where He has lead us and how He is making us stronger through it.
BTW-My new pastor referenced Tim Keller too Dee!! I know this is where God has lead us. š The whole family is learning and growing more than ever!
Ok just got to hear another one on doubt and it was so good!!! I really needed this one today. God is really working here in my life right now. The issue of faith, fear, and doubt. Good stuff. I may be addicted now. Just kidding. Love how God allowed me time for this today though.
Much love,
Angela
Angela — It means so much to me that you are listening. It’s like when you watch a beautiful sunset alone and wish there was someone who could see it with you. Beauty shared is twice as sweet.
His messages on suffering, all his messages on Job, were a lifeline to me. One take-a-way sentence: “We may not know what our reason for suffering is, but we know what it is not — it is not because He didn’t care. How far into the fire was He willing to go for the love of us? All the way to the cross.”
I am holding on to that.
Thanks for listening!
Dee
